Finally Teaching!!

Monday, I got the fastest haircut of my life, it was about 3 minutes.  I don't know why she even asked me what I wanted because she just does the same thing to all the missionaries. Anyways, on Monday, after I had made all my chicken, I gathered all the leftover bones and skin and put it in a bag to give it to the dogs in the Street. However, my companion brought the bag to a lesson and then he forgets to take it after the lesson, so I don't know what those people think about that. This week we have seen the fruit of our labors.
Tuesday, we were walking up this long Street that we had already contacted before, trying to return with some people, when this guy on a bike passes by and calls us over and talks to us. He said he had never talked to missionaries before, but he always had wanted to. So, he invites us into his house and we get to know this guy and he is a very interesting man. His name is Armando, turns out he speaks English because he lived 15 years in the US, but he got deported and thrown in prison for 5 years and now he's studying 5 languages, plus the Bible and the Book of Mormon.  Heck yea and he's going to school since he didn't have the chance to do so. Anyways, then I taught him in English (since he wants to improve it) the Restoration of the Church that Jesus established in the Bible, with priesthood authority, apostles and prophets. We also visited him again this week and taught the Plan of Salvation. And he understood everything. It was amazing! I then invited him to baptized and  he's going

to think about it. The people here have a tough time accepting that their baptism was valid, because it wasn't done by someone holding the priesthood power. But Armando is a really smart man and he has a lot of potential. He has a lot of goals for who he wants to be in the future, physically and spiritually. And so with that kind of mindset, I told him he will never be able to reach his spiritual potential unless he reads and studies the Book of Mormon and he liked that. Then we went to this other lady, who had previously told us that she's not going to read the Book of Mormon. But the night before we showed up at her house, she apparently had a dream about us and the church, where she was trapped inside the church and couldn't get out. I am not sure how she interpreted that dream haha. Then we went to some really old investigators that had lost a bit of interest. We talked with them and answered all the questions about what her cousin (who is a Jehovah’s Witness) had told her. And then I showed them the 12 living apostles and the modern day prophet of the world, and she was like why didn't you show me this earlier. So then I explain what General Conference is and we watched the last talk by the prophet and she loved it. Then we invited her the next day to a dinner and to have a lesson.
Wednesday, we got to teach a friend of one of the members named Estefania, 23 years old and is Catholic, at the moment. She had joined us at church the past week, and she accepted to start taking the lessons. So we teach her the Restoration and then the next visit the Plan of Salvation and she accepted to read the Book of Mormon. But she's also learning English and so she made a deal with me, that I am going to help her with her English homework and she's going to read the Book of Mormon. Then she gave me an extra copy of her English book so that I could  [go study[ up. That night when I get home, I went to go use the bathroom and this time instead of finding a mouse, I found a black cat in my house so that was very strange.
Thursday, I  hit my 6 month mark and I burned this really hammered tie that this lady gave me a long time ago. This week, we were invited by Estefania to her house with some other members and friends to make and eat Carne Asada which is now of  the best things I have eaten on my mission. Afterwards, we visited this 18 year old woman named Cindy, who lives by herself and we reviewed everything  with her from the last time and invited her to church.
So, this week we have found 13 new solid people to teach who have a lot of potential, I only mentioned a few of those people. So I am excited to be here. However, I might be leaving  the area in 3 weeks when I finish my companions training, so we will see what happens. But yea, I have learned that what you have to do is just contact a bunch of people. When you do that, you will find some people who are willing to listen and learn, which are the people the Lord has prepared at this time to receive the fullness of the gospel. There will be pictures of the meat don't  worry, and the tie and cat. We brought Estefania to Church again!
